This is the nineteenth chapter of DARLING in the FRANXX.

Plot

Zero Two is about to board the escalator when Hiro reaches but he can’t enter the area because he is restricted. He shouts out to Zero Two that he may be scared of riding with her not because she’s not human but because of his inexperience and he thinks she is beautiful. Because she is always so confident despite being hurt, he thinks she is beautiful and he can spread his wings with her, and pleads for her not to leave. Zero Two abruptly says she can’t go back before attacking and subduing the soldiers. She uses one of the soldiers’ guns to break the glass of the corridor to reach a Hiro and she says that is the first time someone has said such embarrassing things to her and asks him if he wants to pilot with her. He confirms this and she makes him say it louder, which he shouts out he does. She then glides with him through the gate. More soldiers try to stop them but Zero Two knocks them out. Hiro mentally apologizes to Ichigo and Goro but he has to ride again. As Strelizia is about to leave, Nana orders them to stop. Alpha uses his FRANXX to hold Strelizia off and says if she disobeys Papa’s orders, he will be her opponent. Zero Two tells Hiro they will have a warm-up.
