This is the sixteenth chapter of DARLING in the FRANXX.

Plot

Hiro remembers Goro’s words and Ichigo comes in to tell him something. He later asks Nana if Zero Two is returning to the 9’s. She confirms this and Strelizia will not participate in the battle. Zero Two comes in and announces she will pilot with Hiro. She asks Nana if she intends to deal with the Klaxosaurs without her. A group of SP soldiers surround Zero Two as Nana explains this is Papa’s order. Zero Two fights them and says she has to fight the Klaxosaurs and she feels she belongs with him. Ichigo assures him they will be fine as long as they defeat the Klaxosaurs. Goro asks Hiro if he’s okay and Hiro says yes.

Squad 13 meets Squad 26. Hachi reports the Klaxosaurs are increasing in numbers and it will be impossible to fight without refueling. Squad 26 will stay in the front lines while Squad 13 will be back up. The leader of Squad 26, Code 090, says that’s because Squad 13 was thrown together as an experimental group and lacks the skills as a professional team, much to Zorome and Miku‘s dismay. All the FRANXX units are activated and deployed. Nana says it will be difficult without Strelizia but Alpha says the 9’s will be using their FRANXX.
