This is the fifth chapter of DARLING in the FRANXX.

Plot

Everyone wonders what is taking Hiro and Ichigo so long, and Zorome and Miku decide to go on the offensive anyway. After kissing him, Ichigo asks Hiro if it worked but he says he doesn’t feel anything. Argentea attacks, while Zorome boasts he is the best and wouldn’t mind being the pilot of Delphinium too. Miku tried to stop him but he doesn’t listen as he uses Argentea to attack Delphinium. Argentea suddenly stops moving and Hachi explains a FRANXX requires two partners to move and the trust between them directly influences it. Delphinium is thrown around again and when Nana tries to ask their status, Ichigo sees Zero Two in the screen. She then starts to pilot Delphinium alone despite Nana’s warning it is dangerous. She quickly subdues Argentea and Delphinium emerges victorious, although nana calls it a reckless stunt. Hiro tried to apologize but she says there is no need. Zero Two says she already said her darling belongs to her.

Ina flashback, Hiro tells Ichigo that he gave himself a name and he gives Ichigo her‘s based on her code number. All the other children begin asking for names and Mitsuru asks for one too. Back to the present, Mitsuru looks on with jealousy. During the same time, klaxosaurs begin forming on the outskirts of plantation 13.
