Bird Nest

Bird Nest (トリノス, Tori Nosu) is a location in DARLING in the FRANXX.

Overview

It serves as a safe haven for the parasites after the first battle at the Gran Crevasse left almost all the Plantations in ruin. Miku compares it to the Garden. Kokoro and Mitsuru‘s daughter, Ai, was born there. The parasites and their caretakers reside at the Bird Nest for several years as they rebuild the planet. By the ten-year time skip, it serves as a hospital, and Ikuno, who becomes confined to a hospital bed due to her weakened health, and Naomi work there as doctors. The parasites build a whole new community around it for themselves and their children to live in.

Layout

It is large white building with red accents and architecturally resembles a bird nest. It resides in the center of a large lake and is accessible through a 4 way bridge. As it is a large facility, it has several divisions, such as living quarters for hundreds of parasites, a medical wing, a docking lodge for the FRANXX units, and many more.

Four magma energy stockpile facilities are shown to reside around the Bird Nest.

Areas of the Bird Nest

Living Quarters

The Living Quarters (宿舎) is the main residence for the parasites. Each parasite is given their own personal space but because of the huge number of parasites brought to the facility, there is very little space for them and requiring a handful to share a room.

Assembly Hall

The Assembly Hall (大ホール, Dai Horu) is the rendezvous room for the Parasites to meet before a battle. They attend an assembly on D-Day, the supposedly final battle against the Klaxosaurs.

Strategic Command

The Strategic Command (作戦(さくせん)本部(ほんぶ), Sakusen Honbu) is a control

room equipped with monitors and control panels.

Underground Hangar

The Underground Hanger (地下(ちか)格納庫(かくのうこ)) is the area in which all the FRANXX units are kept.

Medical Wing

The Medical Wing (メディカル ウィング, medikaru wingu) is the hospital area, where parasites seek medical treatment. Following the second battle of the Gran Crevasse, it becomes overcrowded with patients.
